We toured the Marsh his morning with the Slippen’s. We headed out around 7am to beat the heat. Once I got there and started unloading the kayaks I saw a sight I’d never seen before; blue gill and perch were herded up in the south end of the canal flailing and jumping about. We launched and paddled through them to start our tour. At the end of the paddle we came back through, and largemouth were literally jumping all around me and the boat. Our theory is that like dolphins, the largemouth were corralling the smaller fish for their own personal buffet. It was quite a sight that’s for sure! Too bad I didn’t have my fishing pole!
